Research & Professional Experience

Jan 2025 -

Aug 2025

Lead Technical Specialist

Master's of Human-Computer Interaction

Honda Research Institute & Carnegie Mellon University

  • Built Aura™, an AI-powered decision support system (DSS) in JavaScript/HTML/CSS to support c-suite level executives in manufacturing and robotics to make more informed ethical decisions through a multi-agent architecture to provide the perspectives of key stakeholders within an organization’s decision environment. Github.

  • Applied in-context learning techniques such as prompt engineering to elicit the perspectives of various stakeholders, based on user interviews with experts, and built a R.A.G. pipeline to provide contextually rich responses from the system’s sub-agents.

  • Facilitated two three-hour participatory workshops with clients to elicit organization specific decision-making patterns and elicit their key concerns to build actionable guidelines for future research.

Jun 2023 -

Aug 2023

Graduate Researcher

Robotics Institute Summer Scholar (R.I.S.S.)

Carnegie Mellon University: Social Haptics Robotics & Education Lab

  • Developed an educational user interface in Python & JavaScript to communicate with a low-cost, self-assembled robotic loom to teach marginalized youth linear algebra, mechanical design, and weaving principles.

  • Experimented with linear algebra concepts innate to culturally significant woven structures to supplement educational initiatives in maker spaces.

  • Research Poster

June 2022 – Aug 2022

Undergradaute Researcher

Robotics Institute Summer Scholar (R.I.S.S.)

Carnegie Mellon University: Search-Based Planning Lab

  • Tested the performance of three informed path-planning algorithms to discern optimal performance in congested urban environments.

  • Implemented various versions of the A* Search algorithm in C++ using hash-maps and modeled congested environments with 2D maps of urban cities from the Moving AI
benchmark, applying a first-order Gaussian filter to randomly simulate cost

  • Research Paper (pg. 252)

  • Research Poster Link

August 2020 – May 2022

Full Stack Developer

Hitachi Rail STS.

  • Assisted the development of a web-based track-line diagram to monitor track activity, updating old C++ systems to utilize newer technologies in Angular and Java.

  • Wrote Java with a software development team for the backend to synchronize the transmission of messages from the server to the web application via microservices.

Jan 2020 –  Jan 2021

Undergraduate Diversity Fellow

Pitt EXCEL, Swanson School of Engineering

  • Developed, coordinated, and implemented programs to target the professional, academic, social, and financial development of underrepresented minority engineers.

  • Served as a liaison for Pitt EXCEL alumni and undergraduate students, facilitating campus events and communicating issues pertinent to student life.
